The Centre Training and Awards Program (CTAP) is the focal point of training within IDRC and combines policy, management, and service functions for IDRC-funded training awards.

By supporting academic study and offering opportunities for hands-on experience, IDRC

• Helps countries of the South to provide themselves with a critical mass of trained and experienced researchers to promote sustainable and equitable development in their regions.
• Gives a new generation of Canadians an opportunity to participate actively in international development issues and to consider careers in this field.
