The PAN Americas corporate project at IDRC supports research on the social uses and impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The project focuses on strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to better understand the implications of ICTs for development, and to more effectively participate and influence policy making in the region. PAN Americas fosters collaborative approaches to research and learning, and promotes sensitivity to gender issues. The corporate project is part of the ICT4D (Information and Communication Technologies) Program Area at IDRC. It works closely with the Institute for Connectivity in the Americas (ICA) and other regional and global initiatives. Other initiatives in Africa and Asia are: Acacia and PAN Asia. This site operates primarily in English and Spanish
