Appendices

CITES is organized around three Appendices in which are listed — using scientifically established criteria — the wildlife species threatened by international trade and those at risk if trade is not controlled.

The figure below provides information about each Appendix and permit requirements.

Move the mouse over the words "INFO" and "PERMIT" on the left of the figure and information for each Appendix will appear.

It is also possible to get more specific requirements for Canada for each Appendix.

Finally, a summary table lists all possible cases.

The Control List database allows you, amongst other search criteria, to visualize all the species by appendices.
