In many provinces, June is associated with Seniors Month. Today, 1 in 8 Canadians is a senior and in 2041, it will be 1 in 4. It is a time to recognize seniors' many contributions and the vital role they play in our society — whether in the workplace, in volunteer organizations, or within families and communities. For instance:

  • over 75% donate to charities;
  • up to 33% provide informal care services; and
  • 18% do volunteer work.
