Linkages with other issues

The air issues associated with VOCs are:

  • Smog (VOCs contributes to secondary formation of ground-level ozone and fine PM)
  • Visibility/Regional Haze (VOCs contribute to secondary formation of fine PM)
  • HAPs (numerous individual VOCs have been determined to be CEPA 1999 toxic; mass VOCs have been determined to be toxic because of their contribution to the formation of ozone and PM10, both of which have been determined to be CEPA 1999 toxic)
