Message regarding the "TC" mark on the bottles of compressed gaz.

Each day, thousands of so-called dangerous substances (which are nonetheless essential to Canadians' quality of life) are transported within Canada and to and fro from foreign countries by road, rail, air and sea. Every movement of such goods increases the risk of accidents that may endanger human life and the environment. Therefore, manufacturers, shippers, carriers, terminal operators, users and goverments must constantly work to limit the risk of accidents and accident-related damage as much as possible.
Therefore, goverments have developed legislation and regulations to govern all stages of transport of dangerous goods, as well as inspection and monitoring programs designed to enforce compliance with this legislation. In Canada, the federal goverment and all provincial and territorial goverments have adopted legislation to regulate the transport of dangerous goods. While thees laws vary between jurisdictions, they all serve the same purpose, namely, to incorporate the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations adopted under federal legislation of the same name. Dangerous Goods: A Primer

The TGD Multimodal Management group co-ordinates enforcement of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations for various transport modes, to ensure continuity in safety measures when goods pass from one mode to another. Through a Canada-wide inspection, investigation and law enforcement program, the group ensures that shippers, carriers, manufacturers and recipients comply with the Regulations.

TDG inspectors are available to provide information and advice regarding the Regulations.
