How IBIP Funding WorksEligible ProjectsTo apply for the Industrial Building Incentive Program (IBIP) for the design of industrial facilities, the building should include manufacturing or other processes. Eligible facilities with building permits drawn after April 1, 2002, qualify. You must show that the proposed design is expected to consume at least 15 percent less energy than a standard or reference building based on the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB), and at least 10 percent less energy due to specific process improvements. Overall, the building should be at least 25 percent more efficient than other similar facilities. Find out more about other projects that have received funding, view the list of IBIP recipients and read the case studies. Funding OpportunitiesYour incentive is based on the difference between the simulated annual energy savings of the proposed design and the annual energy costs of the reference building, with credit provided for improvements in process energy use that affect the building.
