Seeing Heat Affordably
The ability to see objects that give off heat, or infrared (IR) energy, is a versatile but expensive technology that has numerous military, medical, environmental and industrial applications. Now a new lower-cost IR technology invented at NRC could bring IR technology to a much wider audience — providing increased security, protecting the environment and improving the health of Canadians.

Ensuring the Safety of Canada's Drinking Water by Taking Toxins to Task
Human beings are not the only ones polluting the lakes and rivers that provide our drinking water, nature sometimes does much the same thing. Given the right conditions, large numbers of bacteria can thrive on the water's surface, "blooming" to an extent that becomes a major hazard when they release chemicals that are toxic to humans.
