  • Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters
    The Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters (IE Canada) assists importers to keep current on trade issues and provides useful links and contact information. IE Canada provides a help line for importers, as well as importing guides, including "Import Canada - A Step-by-Step Guide on 'How to Start an Import Business'".
  • Canadian Importers Database
    Canadian Importers Database provides lists of companies (with their geographical locations) importing goods into Canada, by product, by city and by country of origin. The "Major Importers" – those companies which collectively make up the top 80% of all imports (in terms of $ value) – are listed for a particular product or a particular city.

    The data also offers a search function to find out which companies are importing a given product into Canada, to identify the top importers from any given Canadian city, and to find the top companies importing from any country. This feature also identifies the top importers for a given product by country of origin.
  • Canadian Society of Customs Brokers
    The Canadian Society of Customs Brokers is a membership-based site where importers can access a directory of member customs brokerage firms across the country.
  • Forum for International Trade Training
    The Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) is a national, not-for-profit, organization that develops and delivers international trade training programs and services. FITT’s commitment is to develop and provide quality programs and professional certification in international trade to prepare businesses and individuals to compete successfully in world markets.

    Statistics Canada provides import trade data such as import quantity, import value and characteristics of importing firms.

    The Market Research Handbook 2005 (MRH) brings you the most current and extensive demographic indicators and data on Canadian markets.
  • Trade Facilitation Office Canada
    The Trade Facilitation Office Canada’s (TFOC) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization whose mandate is to assist developing countries to export to Canada. The site provides a database of foreign suppliers for Canadian importers. TFOC offers advice, training, contacts, and information to exporters from developing countries, as well as capacity building both in-country and in-Canada.
