Guest Advisor Program
Summary
Have you ever wondered what professional expertise in a specific field could
do to help your business succeed?
The Canada-Saskatchewan Business Service Centre's Guest Advisor Program provides
Saskatchewan entrepreneurs with the opportunity to speak with lawyers, accountants,
business consultants and E-Business advisors who volunteer their time to discuss
your business concerns. Each appointment is 20 minutes long.
- It's confidential, one-on-one consultation over the phone or in person.
- Service is provided without obligation, free of charge.
- This is an introduction of the variety of business services available to you within
the community.
- It's an insight into how a professional can assist in the development
of your business.
- Here's an opportunity to discuss your business situation with a
professional in a neutral location.
Typical discussion topics:
Legal Guest Advisor
- Contracts, liability, leases, dispute resolution, business structure,
shareholder/partnership agreements, intellectual property, buying/selling
a business, licensing agreements, disclaimers, taxation, debt collection.
Accounting Guest Advisor
- Tax issues, GST, eligible expenses, business plans, payroll, leasing,
business structure issues, bookkeeping, accounting software, employer/employee
responsibilities, administrative processes, records management.
E-Business Guest Advisor
- Internet trends/equipment and connectivity, cyberlaw, supply chain/customer relationship management,
e-marketing, Internet merchant accounts/security and fraud, payment gateways,
e-procurement, web design/hosting/storage, selling online, integration.
Business Consultant Guest Advisor
- Marketing: growing a new or existing business, developing cusotmers and repeat business
Management: finance, reporting, strategic and tactical planning, implementation
Human Resources: systems, procedures, interviewing, anticipating demand, evaluations, labour issues
Our Guest Advisors are available as follows:
In Saskatoon:
Times: 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Days: First Wednesday of each month - Accounting Guest Advisor
First Thursday of each month - E-Business Guest Advisor
Second Wednesday of each month - Business Consultant Guest Advisor
Third and Fourth Wednesday of each month - Legal Guest Advisor
Months: All EXCEPT June, July, August & the last week of December
