Where do I take the course?

Before you register for a course, it is important that you ensure that your selected course will be recognized.

The following are suggestions as to where you can find the required courses:

Finance/Accounting

Financial Management (F007) is a CSPS course. The remaining courses in this group must be taken from either a recognized Canadian university, community college, or professional accounting body. We encourage university courses, especially if you are looking for career advancement in this field.

Information Technology

All of the courses in this group can be taken from your department/organization, the private sector or a recognized Canadian university or college.

Communications/Management/Interpersonal Skills

All of the courses in these 3 groups are available from CSPS.

Other

Auditing (A001) is a CSPS course. Courses in economics, commercial law, and quantitative methods can be obtained from a recognized Canadian university or college.

What about Distance Learning?

The Distance Learning Program offered through Athabasca University enables you to complete all of the university courses required within the program. For Distance Learning Programs offered by other Canadian institutions, you must consult the Equivalency Chart of the institution where you plan to register. It is your responsibility to confirm with the university or college where you will complete the remaining courses that cannot be taken through distance learning that they will credit these courses.

Which courses can be credited?

If some of the courses look familiar, you may have already obtained credits towards the Certificate. Click here for a course equivalent chart from the institution you attended.

When you enroll in the program, be sure to include all relevant transcripts to ensure these courses are credited towards the Certificate.
