For close to 50 years, the New York Festivals has honoured excellence in creative communication in the fields of film, radio, television, advertising and recently, interactive media. In 2003, the festival received over 600 entries from 26 countries. The jury, composed of experts in new media from around the world, awarded almost 50 prizes and 79 finalist certificates.

Best Website in the Crossmedia Category for the integration of radio, television and web elements in a multimedia site

The jury of the 55th Prix Italia honoured the Archives site for combining CBC/Radio-Canada Radio and Television content with text, audio and video files in both English and French. The award especially highlights the expertise required to create a multimedia site that integrates Television, Radio, as well as the Internet. The jury was particularly won over by the innovative features of the timeline and the educational components of the Teachers' section. They also praised the site's efficiency and its quick access to clips. As winner of the award, CBC/Radio-Canada Archives beat out 13 entries, including: the BBC, Radio-France, ARTE France, RAI/Italy, ABC/Australia, NHK/Japan and ARD/Germany.

Radio-Canada's "Prix de la radio" recognizes the best of the French radio network's programming. Prizes were awarded in nine categories, as well as the Vice President's Award and another determined by a popular vote by employees. Two hundred entries were submitted by the Première Chaîne, the Chaîne culturelle and New Media.
