Asia Fire Danger Rating System
The Southeast Asia Fire Danger Rating System successfully
modified and transferred Canadian technology to assist Indonesia and
Malaysia in their attempts to reduce the transboundary haze that results
from uncontrolled forest and agricultural fires.

This team developed, in partnership with the Corporate
Services Sector, a Corporate Costing Model that will generate additional
funds for the CFS to support new programs when they are delivered in
a region.

- User-friendly Software Systems for the Pacific Forestry
Centre
This team provided user-friendly software systems that
provide managers with information in an easily accessible manner and
efficient format. They also helped their colleagues at the Pacific Forestry
Centre to implement these systems in their workplace. (This is the first
time that a regional centre has nominated a complete team from another
centre).

The Social Science Research Group has contributed greatly
to a broad array of studies carried out in partnership with the Foothills
Model Forest in the areas of sociology, economics, and non-timber valuation.

Elaine Lefebvre has demonstrated ongoing dedication and
commitment to the compilation of the CFS Publications National Data
Base and its completion in time for showcasing the CFS National Bookstore
at the World Forestry Congress.

- Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign
Deborah Lyzun is recognized with a congratulatory letter
for the work that she did in leading the Government of Canada Workplace
Charitable Campaign in 2002. The campaign involved 46 departments and
agencies and was very successful in raising $700,000.
