Dr Boyan Brodaric of the Geological Survey of Canada developed FieldLog - geological field mapping software that maintains a relational database and provides linkages to CAD or GIS software for visualization and further data manipulation. This software was developed in the 1990's. The final version (3.0) was released in 1997.
