Fun Activities

Sparky the Fire Dog has his own Web site with games and safety tips for kids of all ages! Go to Web site

FEMA for Kids

Test your fire safety knowledge with these fun activities:

Activity One: Smoke Alarm

Smoke DetectorDoes your family’s smoke alarm work?

Ask a grown-up to test the smoke alarm by pressing the button.  If you hear the sound of the smoke alarm, then you know that it is working! Remember: Test the smoke alarm every month.

Activity Two : Escape Plan

Escape PlanDoes your family have an escape plan?

Draw a picture of the route to take from each room in your house to the meeting place outside.  Explain your picture to your family and practice the escape plan.

IDEA: Practice your family’s escape plan twice a year.  That’s easy to remember!
