A Message from the Hon. Jim Kenyon

Welcome to the Department of Economic Development.

Economic Development is focussed on facilitating a business climate in Yukon and First Nation business development in the territory. While the department pursues this Team Yukon approach and works with the Yukon business community to provide the best possible trade and investment services to our local, national and international clients, we will consult with our Team Yukon partners to further expand the objectives of the new department.

This united approach and the building of a full economic partnership with Yukon First Nations sends a positive message to the investment community.

The department is committed to promoting investment trade opportunities for Yukon businesses in all sectors to strengthen and diversify our economy and to create a business climate that encourages responsible development and fosters fairness in government support for business and trade.

The range of industry opportunities in Yukon includes information technology, service industry, oil and gas, mining, music, film production, forestry, energy innovation telecommunications, tourism, cultural industries, construction and more. Yukon companies are delivering superior goods and services at a competitive price to local, national and international markets. We look forward to working with Yukon entrepreneurs to support trade and investment opportunities and partnerships for the development of the Yukon economy.
