Forest Planning - Operational

The following list contains reports which have gone through the environmental assessment screening process.  The screening reports for these areas have all been finalized, however, future timber permits may still be subject to assessment through the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA) process, if a valid trigger exists.

• Barney Lake
  The Environmental Assessment Screening Report-Fire Salvage Project for Barney Lake Fire 2004 was finalized on July 12, 2005.
• False Canyon Creek
  The Environmental Assessment Screening Report-Fire Salvage Project for False Canyon Creek Fire 2004 was finalized on July 12, 2005.
• Haines Junction Planning Area 2, Operating Unit 3
  The Yukon government, Forest Management Branch conducted an Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) screening for seven blocks in Planning Area 2, Operating Unit 3 in the Haines Junction District. The environmental assessment screening report was finalized on July 12, 2005.
• Final Interim Wood Supply Plan for the Kaska Yukon Traditional Territory 2005 (completed in May 2005)
  The final report for the environmental assessments for the Interim Wood Supply is now available.
• Champagne and Aishihik First Nations Strategic Forest Management Plan Fuel Abatement Project for the Village of Haines Junction
  This environmental assessment was undertaken by one of the five technical working groups (for information on these working groups, refer to the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations Strategic Forest Management Plan) set up to implement the Champagne and Aishihik Forest Management Plan. It outlines forest fuel treatments in and around Haines Junction that were carried out late February/early March 2005.
• Interim Wood Supply Plan for the Kaska Yukon Traditional Territory - Year One Blocks C5, C9 and C12 (completed in November 2004)
  The environmental assessment screening report for the "Interim Wood Supply Plan for the Kaska Yukon Traditional Territory-Year 1 Blocks C5, C9 and C12" has been approved. The report supports the release of timber.
• Interim Wood Supply Plan for the Kaska Yukon Traditional Territory (completed in May 2004)
  The environmental assessment screening report for the "Interim Wood Supply Plan for the Kaska Yukon Traditional Territory" was finalized. The report supports the release of timber.
