CRTC seeks comments on its position regarding ownership of pay and specialty services by cable companies

NOTICE:

2000-165 Proposed review of the Commission’s position regarding ownership of discretionary programming undertakings by cable broadcasting distribution undertakings. Deadline for intervention:  26 January 2001.

ORDERS:

2000-1116 The Commission approves MTS's request to provide the marine radiotelephone service to existing customers only. Reference:  TN 436. Eff. Date = 15-12-00.

2000-1117 The Commission approves, on an interim basis, Northwestel's revisions for the extension of service to the Marsh Lake area in the Yukon, effective the date of this order. A revised instalment payment plan will apply. Reference:  TN 743.

2000-1118 The Commission approves on an interim basis Rogers's request to add a new service option to permit its residential end-users to acquire an Internet protocol address for an additional computer connected to the modem up to a maximum of three computers. Reference:  TN 10. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1119 The Commission approves SaskTel's request to revise the wireless service provider – network access service tariff and to ratify the interexchange contribution charge in this tariff as of 30 June 2000. Reference:  TN 9. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1120 The Commission approves TCI's request to offer an additional level of discount pricing options to eligible customers subscribing to local business contract option for their business local exchange services. Reference: TN 310. Eff. Date=08-12-00.

2000-1121 Three feature value and No limits personal call management services packages. – The Commission approves TCBC's TNs 4103 and 4103A. The packages are available only to residence individual line exchange service customers who have the company as their local exchange carrier or local exchange carrier and primary interexchange carrier at the time of billing. Reference:  TN 4103 and 4103A. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1122 The Commission approves TCBC's request to offer an additional level of discount pricing options to eligible customers subscribing to local business contract option for their business local exchange services. Reference:  TN 4113. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1123 The Commission approves Bell Canada's request to introduce Centrex Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Interface (PRI) access arrangement designed to provide large Centrex business customers with ISDN PRI functionality between a Centrex III DMS and compatible terminal equipment located on the customer's premises. Reference:  TN 6517. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1124 The Commission approves Bell Canada's request for a custom-designed arrangement to expand and enhance the capabilities of the customer's transmission network. Reference:  TN 6534. Eff. Date = 11-12-00.

2000-1125 The Commission approves BMTS's request to introduce the tie trunk offering, modify the trunk line rate and make housekeeping changes. Reference:  TN 86. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1126 Solutions CoopTel – The Commission denies CoopTel's proposed promotion to offer, at the company's convenience, subscribers of a designated area a subscription to any available company promotion. Reference:  TN 43.

2000-1127 The Commission approves MTS's request to provide mobile telephone service to existing customers only. Reference:  TN 437. Eff. Date = 15-12-00.

2000-1128 The Commission approves O.N.Telcom's request to provide a 50% discount on calls within Canada that: are made from dedicated lines used by registered or certified hearing or speech impaired TDD/TTY users at their place of employment and billed to the employer; originate from and are billed to the residence service of a registered or certified hearing or speech impaired TDD/TTY users; and are made from a dedicated line leased by a business to offer TDD services to its customers. Reference:  TN 81. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1129 The Commission approves TCBC's request to remove the telephone numbers and geographic central office codes component of network interconnection and component unbundling, which pertains to central office code administration for competitive local exchange carriers. Reference:  TN 4115. Eff. Date = 08-12-00.

2000-1130 CRTC approves a contribution exemption for C1.com Inc. administrative lines. Reference:  8626-C74-01/00.

2000-1131 CRTC approves a contribution exemption for ISP Telecom Centrex lines used for single-hop resale and administrative purposes. Reference:  8626-J34-01/00.

2000-1132 CRTC approves a contribution exemption for Québec-Communications Centrex lines used for local services. Reference:  8626-Q7-02/00.
