Successful completion of post-secondary school training at a recognized college granting a Forest Technician or Natural Resource Management or Fish and Wildlife Diploma or other field relevant to the position.

Experience

    Reliability Status
    Possession of a valid Class "G" Driver's License for the Province of Ontario. (A driver’s abstract must be provided prior to appointment.)
    Ability to obtain and maintain the departmental driver's license, DND 404.
    Must be willing to wear and/or utilize PPE equipment in compliance with safety regulations.

Challenge

Under the direction of the Natural Resources Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the field implementation of various forestry prescriptions at CFB Borden in support of base forest maintenance and military training requirements. The incumbent will assist with noxious weed control as well as fish and wildlife assessments. Planning and data collection in support of the training Area Development Plan, Forest Management Plan, tree marking for tendered timber sales.
