A healthy school promotes the physical, emotional, and social health of students, their families, school staff, and school community.

Good health is necessary for learning. Schools can positively influence several of the determinants that affect healthy child, adolescent, and family development. Healthy Schools has identified six health topics as priorities and require attention within the school community:

• Physical Activity
• Healthy Eating
• Safety and Injury Prevention
• Substance Abuse and Addictions
• Sexual Health
• Mental Health
