ETS offer services to help people prepare for, find and keep employment.

ETS supports labour market development activities that link individual needs with opportunities in the workforce.

ETS delivers employment services through partnerships with community, industry and employer groups.

Manitoba ETS Centres

ETS operates 16 Centres in Manitoba that offer a wide range of services including:

  • employment needs assessment
  • employment/career counselling
  • referrals to community agencies
  • Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) advisory services to help you identify skills you already have
  • information on:
    • job openings
    • Manitoba's labour market
    • training options/opportunities
    • career options
    • community organizations
    • educational institutions
    • job search assistance
    • resume writing
    • cover letters
    • hidden job market tips
    • career change guidance
    • faxing of resumes and cover letters
    • access to computers for:
      • resume writing
      • Internet job search
      • online application for student loans
      • access to additional employment services
      • Job Referral Service for Red River Floodway Expansion Project and Northern Hydro Generating Stations

Eligibility Criteria

ETS reviews your request for assistance in relation to your skills, current circumstances, the needs of the labour market and ETS service priorities. You may be eligible if you fit into one of the following categories:

  • unemployed (working less than an average of 20 hours/week) and a current of previous Employment Insurance recipient
  • unemployed and receiving or eligible for income assistance benefits
  • low income parent(s) with dependent child(ren)
  • an individual about to lose your job

For the employer community, ETS offers free, convenient job vacancy advertising and wage subsidies to assist in the cost of training eligible new hires on-the-job.

ETS Virtual Employment Centre
Employment and Training Services operates Employment Centres across Manitoba, offering a wide range of services for unemployed Manitobans and the employer community. The Virtual Employment Centre makes information about employment and training services available on-line.
