Operating a Private Vocational Institution

Training Completion Fund | Tax Receipts

Once you have registered your private vocational institution with the Private Vocational Institutions Office you will receive a package from the Registrar advising you of your duties and responsibilities as a registrant in Manitoba’s private vocational institution community.

For example, one requirement is the posting of your institution’s Certificate of Registration on each of your campuses where it can easily be seen by students and the public.

As a registrant you will be required to make remittances to the Training Completion Fund. The Training Completion Fund was established to provide protection to students should an institution close unexpectedly, allowing students to either complete their training elsewhere or to receive a tuition refund. Documentation for the Training Completion Fund’s reporting process will be provided to you when you receive your Certificate of Registration.

The Department of Advanced Education and Training prepares the Training Completion Fund Annual Report and it is available to registered institutions and other interested parties.
