Services for Students in the Health and Social Services Field

The Department of Health and Social Services is committed to increasing the number of northerners in health and social services professions. The Northern Development Program was launched in the spring of 1999 to offer NWT students opportunities to pursue careers in front-line professions, including nursing, social work and medicine.  In 2001, this program was changed to the Student Support Services.

If you are an NWT student thinking of pursuing a career in health and social services OR if you are already taking courses towards a certificate, diploma or degree in one of these professions, the Student Support Services can assist you in furthering your career.

We have some exciting programs and services to offer you!
