The M.M. de Weerdt Law Library is the depository for all written judgments and select oral judgments from the Courts of the Northwest Territories. The judgments are posted on the web site within one week of receipt when they are available in electronic format.

Most written reasons for judgment are available in electronic format. The library started to receive transcripts of oral judgments in electronic format in January, 2006. These electronic copies are not the official version of the Judgments. Please contact the Court Reporters to request an official copy of any transcript by phone at (867) 920-8995, by fax (867) 873-0301 or by  e-mail.

The court library system maintains a database of judgments which dates back to the 1960's. There is a collection of older judgments that have yet to be indexed which includes cases from the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court, Police Magistrate's Court, Magistrate's Court, as well as the Territorial Court and Supreme Court as they are known today.
