Maximum Assessable / Insurable Earnings
 
The maximum assessable/insurable earnings per person per year for 2007 is $46,700. This is the maximum annual earnings on which premiums are paid for each worker and the maximum annual earnings on which benefits are calculated for each worker.
 
The maximum is set by the WCB at 140.2% of the Average Industrial Wage in Nova Scotia, and is effective 1 January each year.  The 2006 maximum was based on information collected during the period 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2005.
