Alberta's Network
Equipped with the broadband, high-speed capacity of the network, Alberta SuperNet communities will have the capacity to run high-speed applications and services.
Provided they have the necessary equipment, government offices, libraries, education and health facilities could use such applications as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP - digital services delivered over the Internet), business-quality videoconferencing, virtual learning and high-speed Internet access (delivered by Internet service providers - ISPs - see " SuperNet and the Internet").
These and a variety of other services will also be available to rural businesses and residences through Internet and application service providers (ASPs). ISPs and ASPs will use Alberta SuperNet to reach new customers in the network's 402 Extended Area (smaller, more remote) communities.
