Bursary Help

Searching:

The Search page allows the user to search scholarships, bursaries or awards by text or optional fields with preset parameters.

Keyword Search
The text search can be a single letter or a specific phrase. The use of special characters such as *, ?, -, ¿, is not accepted.

Additional Fields
The additional fields allow the user to search by provider type, discipline type, provider name or region. Each of these fields have drop down menus for easy selection. The optional fields can be searched individually or in combination with or without the text search. Only one choice per field is allowed per search.

The provider type lists the type of provider by government, private corporation, universities and colleges and non-profit organizations.

The discipline type lists all the available academic studies.

The provider name lists all the providers of the scholarships, bursaries or award.

The region lists all the regions.

To narrow down the results use the text field with the optional fields.

Search Parameters

The search parameters allow the user to specify the number of results returned on a page and the order of the results, whether the results are ascending or descending order.

The results can range of 10 per page; 20 per page; to 50 per page.

The order by allows the user to choose between name or date and ascending or descending order. This allows the user some customization in the appearance of the results.

Index:

The Index page shows the discipline index and the region index which have associated scholarships, bursaries or awards.

Discipline Index
The discipline index displays in alphabetical order, all possible discipline types that are associated with the available scholarships, bursaries or awards. Each discipline type will show a result set of scholarships, bursaries or awards.

Region Index
The region index is comprised of geographical areas, which are closely associated with the Canadian provinces. Each region index displays in alphabetical order, the associated scholarships, bursaries or awards of the specific region with the provider name and all associated discipline types.
