In
the fall of 2000, a stand-off occurred in Northern Ontario that captured international
attention. On one side was Canada's largest city (Toronto), a billion dollar consortium
backed by the notorious international waste giant WMI and the province of Ontario.
On the other side were the people of Timiskaming First Nation along with their
neighbours -- the farmers and blue collar families

abandoned Adams Mine open pits for one of North America's largest dump sites.
