Decoding Art
Decoding Art introduces users to the different ways artists have used subjects and symbols to create meaning in their work. These symbols may be objects in the painting or may be represented by the formal elements such as colour, line, texture, composition, and space. Decoding Art has three main sections: The Decoding Quiz, the Artwork Comparisons and the Teachers Resources, which are all printable in PDF format.

Introducing a new feature on CyberMuse for our visually impaired visitors

Ulluriat, which means "stars" in Inuktitut, brings together 28 stellar works in the National Gallery of Canada's Inuit Art collection. Explore several 360 degrees visual representations of sculptures and a video segment by filmmaker Zacharias Kunuk entitled "Qaggiq" (Gathering Place).
