How to Use Performance Plus?

Search Criteria


2000-2002-2004 Data - North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)

Step 1

  • If you want to create a customized report select the 'Yes' button.
  • Select 'No' if you do not want a customized report.
  • Select the following from the drop-down menu:
    • Year
    • Geographic Area - province of your choice
    • Business Type
    • Expense Data Units

Step 2

  • If you know the NAICS code of your business, enter it directly in the text box and select 'Create a report'.
    OR
  • Select the NAICS code from the drop-down menu and choose 'Create Report' to generate a report.
  • If you do not know the NAICS code that you want, you can find a NAICS code by searching hierarchically. Select 'Expand' to look within a selected category, or select 'Create Report' to generate a report.
    OR
  • Search for NAICSs whose descriptions match a given keyword. After you type in the 'Keyword', select 'Search' to get a listing of industries that match your keyword. Choose the one that best describes your business and select 'Create Report'.
  • If you would like to display your own expense items information alongside the industry averages in the report, enter all values in thousands of dollars, rounded to the nearest tenth. All items are taken from your small business tax return. Choose 'Add My Data To The Report'. Otherwise, choose 'New Profile'.
  • Choose 'Create Report' after checking the boxes corresponding to what you want.
  • Your report will now be displayed. You can then print and analyse your data.
  • To print your report, select the 'Printer friendly version' option at the top right of the report.
  • Select 'New Profile' to create a new profile.

1993-1995-1997 Data - Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)

Step 1

  • Select the following from the drop-down menu:
    • Year
    • Geographic Area - province of your choice
    • Business Type
    • Expense Data Units
  • If you want to create a customized report select the 'Yes' button.
  • Select 'No' if you do not want a customized report.

Step 2

  • If you know the SIC code of your business, enter it directly in the text box and select 'Create a report'.
    OR
  • Select the SIC code from the drop-down menu and choose 'Create Report' to generate a report.
  • If you do not know the SIC code that you want, you can find a SIC code by searching hierarchically. Select 'Expand' to look within a selected category, or select 'Create Report' to generate a report.
