Consumers

Contributions Program for Non-Profit Consumer and Voluntary Organizations

The program provides consumer and voluntary organizations with the means to produce high quality and timely research on consumer issues affecting the marketplace and to develop policy advice. Two types of funding are available: project contributions and development contributions. The site includes a downloadable Application Form and Applicant's Guide for the Contributions Program.

Measurement Canada — Complaints & Disputes

Measurement Canada's role is to contribute to consumer, business and investor confidence by administering and enforcing the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act and the Weights and Measures Act. The site includes Statement of Complaint forms and a Notice of Measurement Dispute Investigation form to download. Buyers or sellers of goods or services who suspect they have received inaccurate measurement and who have been unable to resolve their concern with the other party may request their complaint be investigated.

Gives you access to a variety of online applications which allow for fully secure payment for two-way filing and issuance of documents under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA). Applications available include:

Corporations Canada — Joint Online Registration System

Federal corporations in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Ontario can take advantage of new online filing options to save time and cut back their paperwork. For businesses that are incorporating federally or filing annual returns, this pilot system provides a customized service that automatically selects the appropriate provincial forms, inserts relevant information, then guides business filers through the additional requirements.

Canada Small Business Financing Program — CSBFA Lender's Forms

The site provides information and guidelines for lenders to small businesses. Click on "Forms for Lenders" for online forms including Loan Registration, Request for the Transfer of a Loan Between Lenders, Claim for Loss, and Request for Extension of Claim Submission Date.

Student Connection Program — Sign Up for Training

Students can put their technology skills to work as an SCP Student Business Advisor. Sign-up online to the Student Connection Program, which provides Canadian business with internet training and e-commerce solutions.

Telecommunications

Amateur Radio Operator Certificate

The Amateur Radio Operator Certificate is the sole authorization required to operate an amateur radio apparatus in the amateur radio service. Click on the application form (PDF) to download the form. The page includes background information on examinations, accredited examiners and how to obtain a call sign.

Certification and Engineering Bureau — E-Filing (Radio Certification and Terminal Registration)

Users can register both radio and terminal equipment in Canada and pay online to the Certification and Engineering Bureau of Industry Canada.

Spectrum Management and Telecommunications — Forms

The site includes online forms in PDF format that can be downloaded, completed, printed, and faxed to your nearest district office. Included are eight forms related to radiocommunications (e.g. Application for Licence to Install and Operate a Radio Station in Canada; Mobile Radio Station Licence Application) and over 15 broadcasting forms (e.g. Application for a Broadcasting Certificate; and Report of Harmful Interference).

Spectrum Direct

Spectrum Direct is the Spectrum Management’s online services website. The objectives of Spectrum Management are to ensure all radio spectrum use is compatible; to ensure the availability of spectrum for new users, uses, and technologies; to provide users with frequency assignments; to minimize occurrences of interference; and to ensure cases of harmful interference are investigated promptly.

Check the Spectrum Direct website for the following online forms:

  • Account Information: Use the Virtual Licence system to find, download and print a copy of your radiocommunication licences.


  • Licence Applications: Use the Land Mobile Application or Microwave Application forms to apply for licences online.


  • Invoices: Use the Invoice Payment option to securely pay your radio licence invoice online using a credit card (to a maximum of $5000).


  • Personal Communications Service (PCS) / Cellular Station Information: Starting in Fall 2004, companies operating PCS or cellular stations will be required periodically to provide Industry Canada with information on radiocommunication stations covered by their spectrum licence.


  • Maritime Information: Maritime Mobile Service Identities application forms.
