I am pleased to present Flight 2010A Strategic Plan for Civil Aviation, which charts the flight plan for Canada’s aviation safety program in the years ahead. Flight 2010 will help guide us as we strive to improve upon the already high level of aviation safety in Canada.

The aviation sector is a vital component of Canada’s transportation network, as well as the nation’s economy, and is poised for strong growth. I am very optimistic about the future. With an air safety regime that is already among the best, our commitment to safety and to promoting a stronger safety culture will help to maintain Canada’s position as a world leader.

By working in partnership with aviation stakeholders towards our common goal of a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation system, we can move forward together from vision to reality.

Hon. Lawrence Cannon
