In addition, the mandate of the Centre includes the promotion of research and program development in addictions within the criminal justice system. This is achieved by collaboratively developing a co-ordinated program of applied research across jurisdictions nationally and internationally. Through the creation and dissemination of knowledge and expertise, the Addictions Research Centre contributes to policy, programming and management practices in the criminal justice system. The Centre offers opportunities for collaboration with other criminal justice organizations and addictions agencies in Canada and other countries. Visitors take advantage of a professional work environment enhanced by the setting in Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province. In addition to office space, residential accommodation is available on-site for individuals participating in collaborative projects.
