2005 Reporting Year!
Once again this year, the NPRI will be using Environment
Canada's One Window
to National Environmental Reporting System , or OWNERS,
to collect the data that must be submitted. OWNERS is a leading edge,
on-line reporting system to collect environmental information and data
from industries that must report on their emissions. It was developed
by Environment Canada, in collaboration with provincial partners and
other stakeholders. It is fully supported by the NPRI, which has played
a significant role in developing the system. OWNERS is secure and easy
to use.

2005 NPRI Reporting Tools and Guidance
Legislation
The legal basis for the 2005 NPRI is the "Notice with Respect to
Substances in the National Pollutant Release Inventory for 2005" and
its amendment published in the Canada Gazette , Part I. The
notice was published on February 19, 2005 , under the authority of subsection
46(1) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act ,
1999 (CEPA 1999). This notice specifies that any person who owned or
operated a facility during the 2005 calendar year, under the conditions
prescribed in the notice, must provide certain information to the Minister
of the Environment by no later than June 1, 2006. Click

This brochure is intended to determine if your facility is required to
report to Environment Canada before June 1, 2006.
