CFHA Housing Operations

Housing Operations consists of 26 Housing & Site Managers and four sections. Each section is committed to the operational support to the Housing Managers with a continued emphasis on repair and maintenance activities and initiatives to ensure the health, safety and security of married quarters occupants.

The role of Housing Operations is to:

  • Develop and implement operational objectives of the Agency’s strategic and operational plans.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and client service policies, programs, and activities with respect to the day-to-day management of the Canadian Forces family housing portfolio.
  • Provide support and assistance to Agency managers to resolve unusual issues of an operational nature.

bullet  Customer Services

Providing services in the areas of Allocation, Occupant Support and Customer Relations, Customer Services provides assistance to three principal customer groups:

Housing and Site Managers

  • Provides support for HMO activities including policy development, lease and project management, Emergency after hours service, allocation, management and reporting, operations administrative services and claims against and by the Crown.
  • Conducts site visits to address National issues and ensures equitable treatment of all occupants.

Married Quarters Occupants

  • Provides information addressing housing issues that relate to market conditions, evaluations, vacancy rates, relocation and related matters.
  • Provides access to an after hours emergency service addressing occupational, health and safety issues.
  • A dispute resolution process is available for occupants to raise issues relating to their particular housing concerns.

Base Administration Staff

  • Provides information on site specific housing issues, addresses resolution to contentious issues and provides support to Base/Wing Commanders on housing as required.

Provides services in the areas of administration and travel, training to HMOs and other Housing Operations members.

bullet  Housing Management Offices and Site Management Offices

CFHA provides housing and housing services to Canadian Forces members and their families through a network of 15 HMOs and 11 Site Management Offices located across Canada. HMO and SMO staff administers all local aspects of married quarter housing including allocation, maintenance and repairs, rent and client services. The 11 Sites Management Offices, administer services in the sites with fewer housing assets and report to the HMOs.
