CFHA Executive Services

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the senior officer responsible for the policies, management and direction of the Agency. The position reports to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Environment. The following functions are included within Executive Services:

bullet  Defence Liaison

The function is filled by a career military officer. Its purpose is to ensure that the requirements and sensitivities of the Department of National Defence are reflected in the policies and programs of the Agency. The Defence Liaison Officer attends Executive Committee and Defence Liaison Committee meetings in order to provide input on, and to remain fully informed of emerging issues. As well, the Officer serves as Executive Assistant to the CEO, providing advice and implementing decisions, within his/her field of responsibility.

bullet  Policy and Planning

This officer’s role primarily is to advise the CEO, and to ensure that the corporate viewpoint is brought to bear on Agency deliberations, such as the review of the Mission and Mandate. The function is responsible for monitoring and reviewing departmental policies and directives, and ensuring that the Agency’s views and interests are addressed. The Officer undertakes strategic planning for the longer term, including providing input to Treasury Board Submissions, the Strategic Letter, and presentations to the Defence Management Committee.

bullet  Administration

This position is responsible for the administrative operations of the CEO's office, including document management, scheduling and correspondence. In addition, the Officer acts as Secretary to the Executive Committee, preparing agendas and minutes.
