Currently, little is known about fish populations in Aulavik National Park. It is thought that in this harsh arctic environment, fish population levels are low. Please fish responsibly and follow park regulations.

Northwest Territories Fishing Licences are not valid in Aulavik. For those wanting to fish in the park, two types of Parks Canada fishing permits are available from the Park Office in Inuvik: an annual permit of $29.70 or a day permit 0f $8.90.

Fish species in the park include lake trout, arctic char and cisco. The daily catch and possession limit is one (1) arctic char and one (1) lake trout. The daily aggregate and possession limit for all species of fish is three (3). Barb-less hooks are recommended. Only artificial lures may be used. Live organic bait is not permitted.
