1.0 Certificates of Inspection

A certificate of inspection is to be issued as required by the applicable legislation.

1.1 Electricity and Gas

The accredited organization must issue a certificate that meets the requirements delineated in Section 21 of the Electricity and Gas Inspection Regulations. The requirements for a contractor’s meter record system are delineated in section 11 of the Electricity and Gas Inspection Regulations.

1.2 Weights and Measures

The certificates shall be designed as per the sample provided in the Certificate Completion Manual for Accredited Organizations. Measurement Canada’s Strategic Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) codes must be used to compete inspection certificates. The inspection certificates must have an original and a minimum of two copies: original for device owner; first copy forwarded to a location specified by Measurement Canada; second copy for accredited organization’s quality records file. The certificate must be approved by Measurement Canada.
