TORONTO – Twenty-one outstanding older Ontarians will be presented with Ontario Senior Achievement Awards next week for contributions made to their communities, Jim Bradley, Minister Responsible for Seniors announced today.

The Honourable James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will present the awards at a Queen’s Park ceremony on Tuesday, November 21st in the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite. Bradley will read the citations for each award recipient.

“With more people living longer and healthier lives, our society is being challenged to re-examine the role of seniors,” said Mr Bartleman. These award recipients are trailblazers, opening new frontiers and redefining what it means to be a senior, able and willing to contribute fully to society.”

“The Ontario Senior Achievement Award is the highest award that the Ontario government has to recognize seniors for their community contributions,” said Bradley. “These active and involved award recipients are role models for Ontarians of all ages.”
