General responsibilities of each staff
position:
General Manager. Jim Collins. This position is responsible for the strategic
operational management of the FIRB in fulfilling both its regulated
marketing and farm practices mandates, and for directing the overall
conflict resolution role of the FIRB.
Issues Manager. Brenda Coutts. This position includes
the management of regulated marketing issues such as:
liaison with boards and commissions, industry and the Ministry of
Agriculture on governance (such as the commodity board MOUs) and
operational policy issues; support to the FIRB’s members; and research and advice on matters relating to
federal-provincial agreements.
Case Manager. Gino Nasato. This position manages distinct, formal and directed
processes to ensure that regulated marketing appeals and farm
practices complaints are received, reviewed, referred to a separate
mediation process if appropriate and/or heard and decided in a
timely manner.
Administration Officer. Sharon
Oliver. The Administration Officer is responsible for all
aspects of board administration and ensures that administrative
support is provided to members and staff. There are three
administrative support positions:
Issues Support Clerk. Gloria Chojnacki. The responsibilities
of this position include issues management and research
support, and administrative support to the appeals and complaints
processes, appeals and complaints filing systems and statistical
reporting.
Finance Clerk. Helen
Woods and Lisa Stride (job share). The responsibilities of this
position include accounts; service contracts; vacation and leave
management tracking; and
backup support to the Administration Clerk.
Administration
Clerk. Vicki White. The responsibilities of this position include responding to
general enquiries, correspondence, filing, administrative support to
staff and Board members including travel and scheduling.
