In addition to providing the overall framework for the regulation of mortgage
brokerages and mortgage brokers in Saskatchewan, The Mortgage Brokers Act describes the
responsibilities, obligations and powers of the Superintendent of Insurance. One of the
responsibilities of the Superintendent is to investigate consumer complaints.
Filing a Complaint
Before filing a complaint, attempt to resolve the matter with the manager of the
mortgage brokerage or the mortgage broker.
To register a complaint against a mortgage brokerage or mortgage broker, please
complete the Mortgage Broker
Complaint Form and return it to the address provided on the form.
Please note that the licensing provisions of the Act do not apply to banks, credit
unions, certain insurance companies, certain trust and loan corporations, provincial or
federal Crown corporations, and members of the Law Society of Saskatchewan in the course
of practicing as barristers or solicitors.
For complaint inquiries or for further information, please contact our office at (306)
787-6700.
