On February 13, 2003, the Director of the Securities Division
of the Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission extended GRO
43-903 Exemption From Membership Qualification Requirement In
National Instrument 43-101 Standards Of Disclosure For Mineral
Projects dated May 29, 2002 ("GRO 43-903") until June 1,
2003.
GRO 43-903 grants an exemption from the requirement in NI
43-101 that the author of a technical report be in good standing
of a professional association. The order was granted because the
Association of Geoscientists of Ontario was a professional
association until February 1, 2002. It was replaced in Ontario by
the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario ("APGO").
When GRO 43-903 was first granted, APGO had just begun to accept
membership applications. GRO 43-903 expired on February 1, 2003,
but on that date the APGO had a backlog of membership applications
still outstanding. Therefore it was necessary to extend GRO 43-903
to June 1, 2003 to permit APGO to process all applications for
membership.
