Discussion Paper On Hazardous Materials Regulations Last modified: August 2, 2006
Saskatchewan Environment (SE) is in the developmental stages of amalgamating and amending three related regulations; The Hazardous Substances and Waste Dangerous Goods Regulations, The Environmental Spill Control Regulation, and The PCB Storage Regulations that will result in the proposed Hazardous Materials Regulations. Risk-Based Corrective Action for Petroleum Hydrocarbon Impacted Sites 2006 Last modified: December 18, 2006
These Risk-Based Corrective Actions for Petroleum Hydrocarbon Impacted Sites (2006) provide a site management process for soil and groundwater contamination originating sites that have been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. The document replaces the Interim Criteria of BTEX and PHC Fractions of Soils for the year 2003 and Risk Based Corrective Action for Petroleum Contaminated Sites 1995.

HSWDG Regulations Last modified: December 18, 2006

Spill Control Last modified: December 20, 2005

The Environmental Spill Control Regulations are designed to safeguard the physical and living environment in the event of a release of hazardous materials.  The regulations are pursuant to The Environmental Management and Protection Act, 2002.  Whenever a spill occurs as defined in the regulations it must be reported to the department by calling the Spill Control Centre at (800) 667 7525.  If the spill exceeds reportable limits, the responsible party will be required to submit a written spill report within seven days.

Transportation Policy Last modified: June 17, 2005

The policy changes that took effect August 2002 for the transportation of hazardous waste within the province.  The policy addresses manifesting and provincial identification numbers.

Waste Asbestos Policy Last modified: December 18, 2006
This policy provides assistance in identifying sources of asbestos waste and methods for the proper handling and disposal of the waste.
