Materials for Financial Institutions

The Bank of Canada offers free materials and services to help financial institutions:

  1. Train employees
We have quick-reference tools and in-depth materials on how to verify the security features in bank notes, and what to do if you think you have a counterfeit note.
  2. Prepare bank notes for deposits
Our brochure and poster illustrate all the "dos" and "don'ts".
  3. Help take counterfeit bills out of circulation
The counterfeit submission form should be used by branches to submit counterfeit bills to your local police. The information gathered on the form helps police agencies investigate counterfeiting activity.
