Hydrography

Hydrography is a science that deals with the measurement and description of the physical features of bodies of water and their adjacent coastal areas. The Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) is responsible for the surveying, measuring, describing and charting of the physical features of Canada's oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. The data are then used to produce navigational charts, tide and current tables as well as sailing directions for Canadians.
