  1. How long will it take me to use NETFILE?
We can't estimate how long it will take to use the commercial tax preparation software you bought or the Web application you have chosen, but once your tax return is complete, it will take less than five minutes to send us your return through the NETFILE Web site.

  2. How do I search for my ".tax" file?
PC users, click on Start, Search, For Files or Folders, type *.tax in the search field and look in C Drive.

Mac users click on Finder (on icon menu). A search box pops up and in the top right corner of the box, type .tax in search field and look in C Drive.

  3. I think your system is down. I tried to file last night and it did not work. Why?

  6. I haven't filed a tax return in a few years. However, I would like to file my tax return this year. Can I use NETFILE?
As long as you have filed a tax return in the past with the CRA and we have the correct information on file for you, ie. correct address, etc., you can file your current year tax return using NETFILE. If you wish to file the prior year tax returns that you have not yet filed, you will need to send these via regular mail.
