The Canada School of
Public Service is the common learning service provider for the Public Service of Canada. It was
created to bring a more unified approach to serving the common learning and
development needs of public servants and to help ensure that all Public Service
employees across Canada have the knowledge and skills they need to deliver
results for Canadians.
The Public Service Commission of Canada is an independent agency responsible for safeguarding the values of a professional Public Service: competence, non-partisanship and representativeness. It does this in the public interest as part of Canada's governance system. It does this by administering the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA) and a merit-based system and, inter alia, being responsible for the appointment of qualified persons to and within the Public Service; by providing recourse and review in matters under the
PSEA; and by carrying out other responsibilities as provided for in the PSEA and the Employment Equity Act (EEA).
The Treasury Board Secretariat
provides advice and support to Treasury Board Ministers in their role of ensuring value for money. It also provides oversight of the financial management functions in departments and agencies.
