epass Canada

1. What is epass Canada?

epass Canada is a service that provides enhanced security for accessing online Government services.

Please refer to the epass Enabled Services page to view the current list of available services. For more detailed information please refer to the About epass page.

2. What is an epass?

Please see the epass Registration and epass Enabled Services Enrolment frequently asked questions for more information.

3. What are the rules to create a User ID and Password?

Your User ID and Password protect your epass and should be kept confidential at all times. You should not share them with anyone, including representatives of the Government of Canada.

Your User ID must:

4. What is my epass used for?

Your epass is used to access epass Enabled Services. You must both register for an epass and enrol in the service you want to access.

Please see the epass Registration and epass Enabled Services Enrolment frequently asked questions for more information.

5. Can I have more than one epass?

Yes, you may have a different epass for each epass Enabled Service. Please see the What is an epass Enabled Service? frequently asked question for more information.

You will need to remember which epass was used to enrol with each service. If you forget, epass Canada cannot assist you as it does not know which services you access or how many epasses you have.

6. Do I need a different epass for every computer I use?

No, you can use the same epass with different computers, provided they are connected to the Internet and use a browser that meets the technical requirements.

Please see the Which browsers, Java Virtual Machines and operating systems are validated for use by epass Canada? frequently asked question for more information.

7. Does my epass expire?

Yes, your epass can expire. The system requires you to use your epass at least once per year. If you do not use your epass once a year, your epass will expire. If this occurs, you will no longer be able to access online epass Enabled Services.

Should your epass expire, you will be required to register for a new epass and enrol again with the epass Enabled Services.
