Orders in Council naming Ministers and Ministries responsible for amateur sport

P.C. 1976-2423 of September 30, 1976	A Minister of State (Fitness and Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of National Health and Welfare in carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of the policies and programs related to fitness and amateur sport.
P.C. 1979-1622 of June 5, 1979	The powers, duties and functions of the Minister of National Health and Welfare under the Fitness and Amateur Sport Act were transferred to the Secretary of State of Canada. That part of the Public Service of Canada known as the Fitness and Amateur Sport Branch of the Department of National Health and Welfare was also transferred to the Secretary of State of Canada.
P.C. 1979-1635 of June 5, 1979	A Minister of State for Fitness and Amateur Sport and Multiculturalism was appointed to assist the Secretary of State of Canada in carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of the policies and programs related to fitness and amateur sport and multiculturalism.
P.C. 1980-613 of March 6, 1980	The powers, duties and functions of the Minister of National Health and Welfare under the Fitness and Amateur Sport Act were transferred to the Minister of Labour. That part of the Public Service of Canada known as the Fitness and Amateur Sport Branch of the Secretary of State of Canada was also transferred to the Minister of Labour. Therefore the Hon. Gerald Regan ceased to hold the title of Minister of State (Sports) on March 5, 1980, as he was also the Minister of Labour.
P.C. 1981-2680 of September 24, 1981	The powers, duties and functions of the Minister of National Health and Welfare under the Fitness and Amateur Sport Act were transferred from the Minister of Labour to the Secretary of State of Canada. That part of the Public Service of Canada known as the Fitness and Amateur Sport Branch of the Department of Labour was also transferred to the Secretary of State of Canada.
P.C. 1982-3074 of October 1, 1982	The powers, duties and functions of the Minister of National Health and Welfare under the Fitness and Amateur Sport Act were transferred from the Secretary of State of Canada back to the Minister of National Health and Welfare. That part of the Public Service of Canada known as the Fitness and Amateur Sport Branch of the Department of the Secretary of State of Canada was also transferred to the Minister of National Health and Welfare.
P.C. 1982-3075 of October 1, 1982	A Minister of State (Fitness and Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of National Health and Welfare in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of fitness and amateur sport.
P.C. 1983-2570 of August 12, 1983	A Minister of State (Fitness and Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of National Health and Welfare in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of fitness and amateur sport.

P.C. 1990-403 of February 3, 1990	A Minister of State (Fitness and Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of National Health and Welfare in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of fitness and amateur sport.
P.C. 1991-759 of April 21, 1991	A Minister of State (Fitness and Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of National Health and Welfare in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of fitness and amateur sport.
P.C. 1996-1148 of July 12,1996	The Minister of Canadian Heritage was designated as the minister for the purposes of the Fitness and Amateur Sports Act in respect of amateur sport.
P.C. 1999-1450 of August 3, 1999	A Secretary of State (Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of fitness and amateur sport.
P.C. 2002-26 of January 15, 2002	A Secretary of State (Amateur Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of fitness and amateur sport.
P.C. 2003-942 of June 12, 2003	The Minister of Health was designated as the minister for the purposes of the Physical Activity and Sport Act in respect of physical activity and the Minister of Canadian Heritage was designated as the minister for the purposes of the Physical Activity and Sport Act in respect of sport.
P.C. 2003-954 of June 17, 2003	A Secretary of State (Physical Activity and Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of Health and the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latters’ responsibilities in respect of physical activity and sport.
P.C. 2003-2029 of December 12, 2003	A Minister of State (Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect of sport.
P.C. 2004-1192 of October 19, 2004	A Minister of State to be styled Minister of State (Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect to sport.
P.C. 2006-0032 of February 6 2006	A Minister of State (Sport) to be styled Minister for Sport was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect to sport.
P.C. 2006-1421 of November 27, 2006	A Minister of State to be styled Minister for Sport was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect to sport.
P.C. 2007-0007 of January 4, 2007	A Secretary of State (Sport) was appointed to assist the Minister of Canadian Heritage in the carrying out the latter’s responsibilities in respect to sport.
