Science and Technology Excellence in the Public Service identifies the unique characteristics of excellence that distinguish federally performed science and technology (S&T), and offers a framework for excellence in government S&T. The report defines the main elements of S&T excellence and identifies mechanisms to measure excellence in the conduct and management of federal S&T. It also offers recommendations for federal science-based departments and agencies to encourage and measure excellence. This is the third report of the Council of Science and Technology Advisors.


Supporting Small Business Innovation: Review of the Business Development Bank of Canada

On June 20, 2001, the Honourable Brian Tobin, Minister of Industry, tabled the document Supporting Small Business Innovation: Review of the Business Development Bank of Canada. The report follows through on the commitment in the Business Development Bank of Canada enabling legislation (1995) to conduct a review of the provisions and operations of the Business Development Bank of Canada Act five years after its coming into force, and to report within one year.

On October 25, 1999, John Manley, Minister of Industry, released the report of the Public Policy Forum on consultations involving the stakeholders of National Hockey League (NHL) teams in Canada. The Forum's report, which was presented to the Minister and other stakeholders, summarized the results of consultations and provided recommendations.
